St. Louis Park, MN
2018 booth #34
Using donated and recycled children's books, magazines and fine papers, self-taught artist Emily Lavalier creates high-density collage artwork in Minneapolis, MN. Each original contains hundreds, if not thousands, of pieces of paper, and take anywhere from 150 to 500 hours to complete. The originals begin as hand-drawn illustrations and seem to grow as layers are added. Hidden details are usually found throughout, and each original is is full of texture- both from the layers of paper and the added embellishments, string, and beads.
