Activities for All
Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28
Outdoor Painters of Minnesota will have members of the plein air painters throughout the park painting the vistas of Loring Park.
OPM now has use of "Berton Boxes" (community paint boxes made by Port Wing Plein Air founder John Berton) for the public to try plein air painting in acrylic or watercolor. Five boxes will be placed along the east side of the pond with volunteers talking about plein air painting giving visitors a chance give it a try.
Finished paintings will be on display and for sale at the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota booth on the east side of the park.
Artistic Henna - Reena Maheshwari is an Internationally Certified Henna Artist with over 20 years experience. Henna is a body decoration traditionally practiced in India, the Middle East and parts of Africa. She uses all-natural Rajasthani Henna mixed with a blend of essential oils, tea, and sugar. (I DO NOT use black henna as this can cause unwanted allergic reactions.) My mom (Shakun Maheshwari of Shakuntala Design) and I have been doing henna in the Twin Cities for over 20 years - most notably at the Festival of Nations in St Paul.
